Is It Christmas?
I was without internet this Christmas and while that’s tragic in and of itself, the story’s worsened by the fact that one of my very favourite websites wasn’t able to grace my screen that day: IsItChristmas.com It’ a simple concept…I just wanted to see the big, bold YES after visiting the all-caps NO every day this year…I was heart broken.

Try This On
Have you ever noticed that patriotism is one of those weirdly universal praise words that people throw around to inflate others’ egos whilst still trying to keep themselves involved in that showering of goodwill? Well patriotism isn’t exactly a virture. Why should you feel proud of a country and, more importantly, why should that pride be some sort of medal to wear around? You...

dagmarrr: I’ve seen the future of music, Weezy take notes. Brokencyde - Freaxxx (Official Video) Thanks, Dyrran, for showing me a band that exemplifies everything wrong with new “new wave” bands. Let’s see, I’ll get out a checklist of what’s required for stripping music out of music production: Tearing any possible substance from the music by replacing lyrical...

Rolling Stone's Best of 2008 →
So I think that this latest list from my most hated music “magazine” has sealed its place as the publication that’s the most out of touch with its subject matter. A quick glance at the list makes it quickly apparent that it couldn’t name a single album from a band that wasn’t already famous or safely nestled into radio-friendly, mainstream circles to save its...

I think hip hop artists should just parody themselves from now on. No, seriously; instead of “writing” songs about why they’re so great, just point out what’s wrong with the music. At least that way they’re fo’ realz yo. This parody artist has more cred than all of the hip hop genre combined.

Best Flash Game Ever →
I played this thing for probably 2 hours today. It’s a mix of shooter and tower defense, and the amount of different strategies available to you make it very replayable.

Romania Removes Evolution From Every Curriculum →
So, it looks like there aren’t going to be any new Romanian scientists or doctors or really anyone with any sort of merit in biology coming out of that backwards country. Someone thought it would be a good idea to ban evolution from every school’s curriculum in Romania, and I’m sure that’ll work out great for them. I mean, it’s not like they wanted any of their...

Holy Cow! →
Jon Katz has written a truly enlightening feature over at slate. He says that his cow taught him about faith, because when he told it that the economy crashed it looked at him like it didn’t understand didn’t care. Yeah… that’s right. We should all act like everything’s going to be okay because a cow who is too stupid to wince when shocked by its electric fence gave...
